Yesterday, we hosted the professional networking event “BESS Risks Under the Spotlight: From Fire to Business Interruption” at Sky Office, organized by XEnergy and our partner Marsh.

The XEnergy International Advisory Board has been strengthened with the appointment of Ambassador Igor Pokaz, one of Croatia’s most experienced diplomats with an extensive international background. His appointment marks an important step in the internationalization of our association and will further strengthen XEnergy’s strategic position on the global stage through the development of new partnerships and initiatives.

Just one week after the Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency (HERA) adopted the long-awaited decision on the unit connection fee for the electricity grid, the association XEnergy, in partnership with the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK), brought together key energy sector stakeholders at a roundtable discussion aimed at fostering an open and constructive dialogue on the new regulatory framework and its market implications.

In the context of accelerated decarbonization, the Croatian electricity system is facing an increasingly significant challenge: how to align the growth of generation from variable renewable energy sources with the limitations of the existing grid. In practice, this is reflected in difficulties connecting new facilities due to limited grid capacity, the need for additional investments in the grid, and the growing need for system flexibility.

As a new corporate member of the XEnergy network, the Auto Hrvatska Business Group brings a strong contribution to the development of sustainable mobility and the green transition in the region. As a market leader with many years of experience, the company actively follows and implements ESG principles through the modernization of its portfolio, with a special focus on e-mobility, innovative mobility solutions, and reducing emissions in the transport sector. Their role in transforming the automotive industry toward more sustainable mobility models makes them an important partner in building a low-carbon future.

The Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency (HERA), at the session of its Management Board held on 27 April 2026, adopted the long-awaited decision on the amount of the unit fee for connection to the electricity grid.

We are delighted to introduce four new corporate members: HEP Group, our largest electric power company without which the energy transition in Croatia and the region would not be possible; the Hydrocarbon Agency (AZU); Elektroprivreda BiH (EPBiH); and the Auto Hrvatska Business Group.

With the final presentation of completed projects, the ceremonial presentation of certificates to participants for successfully completing their student internship, and a closing gathering, the second cycle of our Internship Program, carried out in cooperation with ENNA Group, came to an end.

The Hydrocarbons Agency was established in 2014 as an operational body of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, with the goal of initiating and activating new exploration and production of hydrocarbons in the Republic of Croatia.

The program is designed to give students practical experience in the energy sector, develop their professional and personal skills, and increase their competitiveness in a rapidly evolving industry that impacts a sustainable future for all of us.

We are proud to announce the opening of the call for the XENA – Woman of the Year in Energy 2025 Award!

Our first internship program, organized in collaboration with our corporate partner, E.ON Croatia, has successfully concluded. Six female graduate students from technical and social sciences had the opportunity to experience real challenges in the dynamic energy industry over one month, guided by experienced mentors and working on concrete projects: from employee engagement, developing solar potential in Croatia, and market strategies for certain parts of E.ON’s business, to exploring green transition opportunities and helping shape solutions for waste management in the photovoltaic industry.

Another excellent round table is behind us. This time, we gathered top experts in the fields of cybersecurity and critical energy infrastructure at a discussion titled “Cybersecurity and Energy: New Challenges, New Solutions” held in Opatija.
