Just one week after the Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency (HERA) adopted the long-awaited decision on the unit connection fee for the electricity grid, the association XEnergy, in partnership with the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK), brought together key energy sector stakeholders at a roundtable discussion aimed at fostering an open and constructive dialogue on the new regulatory framework and its market implications.

In the context of accelerated decarbonization, the Croatian electricity system is facing an increasingly significant challenge: how to align the growth of generation from variable renewable energy sources with the limitations of the existing grid. Our first internship program, organized in collaboration with our corporate partner, E.ON Croatia, has successfully concluded. Six female graduate students from technical and social sciences had the opportunity to experience real challenges in the dynamic energy industry over one month, guided by experienced mentors and working on concrete projects: from employee engagement, developing solar potential in Croatia, and market strategies for certain parts of E.ON’s business, to exploring green transition opportunities and helping shape solutions for waste management in the photovoltaic industry.
