The Fourth Round Table Held

Another excellent round table is behind us. This time, we gathered top experts in the fields of cybersecurity and critical energy infrastructure at a discussion titled “Cybersecurity and Energy: New Challenges, New Solutions” held in Opatija.

The program included two keynote presentations and two panel discussions addressing cybersecurity from two perspectives: regulatory and business. After the opening presentation by Domagoj Javorović from the Information Systems Security Bureau on national and EU acts relevant to the topic, the first panel focused on cybersecurity through the lens of cross-sector cooperation. Our Martina Dragičević moderated the discussion brilliantly, while panelists Tonko Obuljen (HAKOM), Tomislav Gotovac (CARNet), Aleksandar Klaić (National Cybersecurity Center), Tamara Tafra (Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs), and Drago Žagar (Croatian Institute for Cybersecurity) provided competent, engaging, and highly concrete insights.

Following Iva Rogović Lekić’s presentation on cyber risk insurance and mitigation strategies, the second panel turned its focus to energy infrastructure and security solutions. Participants included representatives of network operators — Ana Kekelj (HOPS), Ivan Periša (HEP-ODS), Goran Kapić (PLINACRO) — as well as energy producers such as Mario Klarić (PROFESSIO ENERGIA) and a representative from KONČAR-Digital, Croatia’s leading company in developing digital solutions for smart energy and critical infrastructure management. The panel was moderated by our always excellent Tina Jakaša.

The discussion showed that operators, producers, and suppliers take their responsibilities seriously — from meeting new legal obligations to adopting best practices such as network segmentation, 24/7 monitoring, rapid incident response, and continuous staff training.

We might be a bit biased, but we’re confident this was yet another in our series of successful round tables — with outstanding participants, highly relevant topics, and our usual pleasant and constructive atmosphere. Not to mention the wonderful setting of the Boutique Hotel Navis right by the sea, a beautiful sunny day, and of course, the enjoyable networking during and after the conference.

Many thanks to our sponsors: Končar Group, Avola Solutions, Professio Energia, and Greco Group.
