In an era of accelerated digital transformation, the energy sector faces a new generation of challenges that go beyond the boundaries of traditional security.
The integration of smart grids, digital management systems, and connected components enhances the flexibility and efficiency of energy systems — but at the same time, it opens the door to sophisticated cyber threats capable of causing severe disruptions in energy supply and even threatening broader national security.
The topic has never been more relevant. As geopolitical tensions intensify and the number of cyberattacks on the energy sector continues to grow rapidly, the potential consequences for energy supply — and thus for the economy and citizens — are increasingly significant.
To address these critical issues, XEnergy is organizing a roundtable discussion titled “Cybersecurity and Energy – New Challenges, New Solutions”, which will take place on 16 October 2025 in Opatija. The event will bring together leading experts in cybersecurity, energy infrastructure, and digital solutions for smart energy management.
The discussion will focus on practical aspects of the regulatory framework, cross-sector cooperation among regulators, obligations of energy companies, strategies for mitigating cyber risks, and innovative technological solutions.
